Services / Data Centre Decontamination
Data centre
decontamination
done properly.
Your data centre is the most critical component of your business. Contamination is the most preventable cause of unplanned downtime. We use HEPA-grade equipment and antistatic procedures, and we do not leave until your representative signs the job sheet.
HEPA
Why specialist cleaners matter
General cleaning contractors use synthetic filters that capture particles down to around 2.5 microns. They recirculate what they cannot capture back into the air. In a data centre, this redistributes contamination through your airflow system and onto your equipment. The facility looks clean. The contamination has moved.
HEPA-filtered specialist vacuums capture 99.97% of particles at the 0.3 micron threshold, which is the standard required for electronic environments. Our staff use antistatic equipment and follow procedures designed for live critical environments. No soapy water. No general contractors.
Our main goal is to minimise risk and unplanned outages. The lack of a scheduled maintenance program leads to equipment failure and loss of critical data and services. We work with you to create a tailor-made maintenance program suited to your facility's contamination profile and operational requirements.

01
Raised Floor
Subfloor Void
The subfloor void is the primary contamination reservoir in most data centres. Dust, debris, and zinc whisker particles accumulate undisturbed for years and are then drawn up through floor tiles into equipment by cooling airflow. This is where we start.

Equipment Inlets
and Exhausts
Server and rack equipment inlets are decontaminated without powering down the facility wherever possible. Where individual components require isolation, this is agreed in the protocol stage and scheduled to minimise operational impact.

CRAC Units and
Cooling Systems
Computer Room Air Conditioning units are cleaned internally including belts, coils, and filter housings. Contaminated CRAC units are a secondary contamination source that continuously reintroduces particles to the room.

Overhead Cable
Trays and Voids
Cable trays above raised floors and in ceiling voids accumulate fibres and particulates that fall or are drawn into equipment below. Overhead contamination is addressed as part of every comprehensive decontamination engagement.
