Office equipment cleaning and sanitisation.

Regular professional cleaning of office equipment prevents technical problems, reduces staff illness, helps businesses comply with Health and Safety requirements, and makes sound financial sense. Equipment looks newer for longer, and staff are more productive in a clean environment.

The hygiene case for regular cleaning

It is widely documented that shared office equipment carries significant bacterial loads. Keyboards, mice, and telephone handsets in shared environments can carry bacteria counts that exceed what is found in washroom fixtures. Employees who do not wash their hands after using the bathroom introduce those bacteria directly to shared equipment surfaces.

Regular sanitisation every three months disrupts bacterial buildup on shared surfaces and reduces the cycle of illness-related absenteeism that costs organisations significantly every year. This is particularly relevant in environments where multiple staff use the same workstations across different shifts.

Beyond hygiene, dust accumulation inside laptops, under keyboard keycaps, and around printer mechanisms causes premature wear and failure. Regular professional cleaning extends the service life of equipment and reduces the frequency of replacement, which is a direct cost saving.

What we clean

All office IT equipment and shared workspace surfaces.

01

Keyboards, Mice
and Input Devices

Keyboards are among the highest bacterial-load surfaces in any office environment. We clean between and under keys, removing accumulated contamination and food debris that standard cleaning cannot reach. Sanitisation of all surfaces follows the deep clean. Mice, trackpads, and other input devices are cleaned simultaneously.

Laptops and
Desktop Computers

Laptop cooling vents, keyboard assemblies, and screen surfaces are cleaned externally. Internal vent cleaning removes accumulated dust that restricts airflow and causes thermal throttling and performance loss. Desktop towers are vacuumed externally and at vents. Full internal decontamination is available separately.

03

Monitors and
Screens

Screens accumulate fingerprints, dust, and skin oils rapidly in office environments. We clean screens with appropriate microfibre and screen-safe solutions that do not leave residue or damage anti-glare coatings. Monitor housing and adjustment bases are cleaned simultaneously.

Printers, Fax and
Multifunction Devices

Multifunction devices are heavily used shared equipment that accumulates contamination on every surface. We clean external surfaces, paper trays, glass scanning beds, and control panels. Internal paper path cleaning removes dust and debris that causes paper jams and feed issues in ageing devices.

The office clean process

Structured, consistent, documented. The same standard every visit.

  1. A

    Inventory and Schedule

We document the equipment to be cleaned before the first visit. This becomes the basis for consistent service across repeat visits. You know exactly what is being cleaned each time.

  2. B

    Contamination Removal

Accumulated dust, debris, and surface contamination is removed using HEPA-filtered vacuuming and microfibre techniques. We do not use compressed air, which redistributes contamination to other surfaces in the workspace.

  3. C

    Sanitisation

All high-touch surfaces are sanitised with antistatic, equipment-safe sanitiser. Different coloured microfibre cloths are used for different surface types to prevent cross-contamination between equipment and workstations.

  4. D

    Completion Report

A completion report documents what was cleaned and any equipment conditions noted during the visit. For scheduled maintenance agreements, this becomes your ongoing record of cleaning history.

Frequently asked questions

How often should office equipment be professionally cleaned?

For shared equipment in standard office environments, every six to twelve months for contamination removal and every three months for high-touch surface sanitisation. Environments with higher hygiene requirements, such as medical reception desks, childcare settings, or food service back-offices, benefit from quarterly full cleans.

Can you clean equipment while staff are present?

Yes. Office equipment cleaning can typically be done during working hours with minimal disruption. For equipment that needs to be logged off or powered down briefly, we coordinate with your IT team to minimise the impact on users. After-hours cleaning is also available for sites that prefer zero disruption during business hours.

Do you provide a certificate or record for compliance purposes?

Yes. We provide a written completion record for each visit documenting what was cleaned. For organisations with WH&S compliance requirements or hygiene audit obligations, this provides the documented evidence of a regular cleaning program.

What is the difference between office cleaning and office equipment cleaning?

Office cleaning addresses floors, surfaces, and common areas. Office equipment cleaning addresses the equipment itself: inside keyboard gaps, cooling vents on laptops, paper paths on printers, and the surfaces of shared devices. Standard office cleaners do not have the tools, products, or training for equipment cleaning and can damage equipment if they attempt it with general-purpose products.

We have about 50 workstations. Is that too many for a single visit?

Not at all. We regularly service medium to large office environments. For larger sites we typically stage the clean across sections of the office to keep disruption to individual teams minimal. Contact us with your equipment inventory and we will propose a practical schedule.
